Swim Classes for Every Stage and Every Age
From four-month-old infants exploring water for the first time to adult swimmers refining their technique, Marsden’s programs are structured, progressive, and taught by certified coaches in small classes.
Infants & Toddlers
Ages 4 months to 4 years · Parent-assisted · 30-minute classes
Small-group swim classes where a parent joins the child in the water. Coaches trained specifically in infant and toddler aquatic development guide each session, building water confidence and safety from the earliest age.
Regular early swimming lessons support motor, cognitive, emotional, and language development, helping little swimmers reach milestones ahead of their non-swimming peers.
What Your Child Will Learn
- Safe entry into and exit from the water
- Breath-holding and comfortable submersion
- Independent propulsion to the pool edge
- Water safety fundamentals
- Strong parent-child water bond
Beginner Program
4+ years old · new to swimming
Built for older children stepping into the pool for the first time, especially those with water phobia or anxiety about entering the water. A slower-paced, supportive program that focuses on trust, comfort, and steady confidence-building.
Once a swimmer is ready, they transition directly into Level 5 (Seal) to continue through the four competitive strokes.
What Makes It Different
- Designed for age 4+ with no swimming background
- Coaches trained in reducing water anxiety and fear
- Extra time on foundational skills before stroke work
- Direct bridge to Level 5 (Seal) when ready
Learn to Swim
All ages · Small group · Max 5 students per class
Our AUSTSWIM-endorsed Learn to Swim program takes swimmers through the fundamentals: buoyancy, rotation, gliding, and propulsion using arms and legs, before layering in all four competitive strokes and diving.
The focus is on technique from day one. We build proper strokes first so swimmers never have to unlearn bad habits later. Every term includes water safety skills for self-rescue and helping others.
Program Highlights

- Front and back buoyancy, rotation, gliding, propulsion
- All four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly
- Introduction to diving technique
- Water safety and self-rescue skills every term
- Semi-private and individual classes available
Stroke Development

For swimmers who’ve mastered the fundamentals and are ready to refine technique over longer distances. Stroke Development introduces the intricacies of competitive starts, turns, and finishes, providing the foundation for squad-level swimming.
