Our 10 levels of progression take our students from babies learning water safety and confidence to capable squad swimmers mastering technique. Advancement throughout these stages are determined based on our philosophy of ensuring that each student is evaluated and deemed competent in all areas before progressing to the next stage.

STARFISH (LEVEL 1)

• Safely entering and exiting the water with a parent

• Assisted monkey hold for support

• Voluntarily executing arm and leg movements

• Floating on the back using a mat

• Parents mastering the conditioning routine

• Comfortably performing submersion exercises for up to 3 seconds with a parent

SEAHORSE (LEVEL 2)

• Confidently enter and exit the water with precision

• Demonstrating a voluntary monkey hold on the wall showcases their water competency

• Exhibit ease in comfortably submerging for up to 10 seconds

• Skillful execution of an assisted glide to and from the coach is part of their repertoire

• Demonstrate proficiency in an assisted back float in water

• An assisted turnaround is smoothly carried out as part of their developing aquatic skills

• Mastery includes executing assisted safety falls off the wall with poise and control

STINGRAY (LEVEL 3)

• Execute fundamental digging arm movements with precision

• Demonstrate the ability to swim a distance of 3 metres without taking a breath

• Successfully retrieve objects submerged at a depth of 1 metre

• Showcase a back float using a noodle for a duration of 10 seconds

• Accomplish independent safety falls off the wall with confidence and skill

TURTLE (LEVEL 4)

• Execute a streamlined glide, maintaining the correct body position, for a distance of 3 metres

• Showcase proficient back and front floats, each lasting for a duration of 10 seconds

• Demonstrate precise flutter kicks on both the front and back, utilizing a board, covering a distance of 10 meters while maintaining correct body positioning

• Swim independently for a distance of 10 meters, incorporating comfortable and controlled breaths

• Independently perform the safety test with confidence and competence

SEAL (LEVEL 5)

• Execute precise streamline flutter kicks on both the front and back, covering a distance of 5 metres with finesse

• Proficiently perform safety roll-overs, demonstrating mastery over a distance of 10 metres

• Showcase skilled freestyle swimming, covering a distance of 10 metres with efficient technique

• Demonstrate competent backstroke proficiency, navigating a distance of 10 metres with precision

• Execute well-coordinated breaststroke arm movements, covering a distance of 10 metres

• Display a poised seated dive off the wall with confidence and control

DOLPHIN (LEVEL 6)

• Execute Freestyle streamline kicks with precision, covering an impressive distance of 15 metres

• Demonstrate proficient freestyle swimming with side breathing, skillfully navigating a distance of 15 metres

• Effortlessly glide after executing a breaststroke kick with grace and control

• Showcase mastery in butterfly kicks, propelling forward for an impressive 15 metres

• Display finesse in performing forward somersaults, exhibiting agility and coordination

• Execute poised kneeling dives off the wall, demonstrating control and confidence

SHARK (LEVEL 7)

• Demonstrate proficient freestyle swimming, incorporating bilateral breathing, for an impressive 25-metre distance

• Exhibit skilled backstroke technique, covering a distance of 25 metres with ease and precision

• Showcase competence in breaststroke, smoothly navigating a distance of 25 metres with controlled strokes

• Perform butterfly arm movements with precision, propelling forward for a distance of 15 metres

• Execute streamlined kicking across 25 metres for all four strokes with finesse

• Confidently perform open turns, showcasing agility and mastery in transitioning between strokes

• Display poise and confidence in executing crouching dives off the wall, demonstrating control and flair

BARRACUDA (LEVEL 8)

• Effortlessly cover a distance of 25 metres with efficient freestyle swimming

• Demonstrate efficient backstroke proficiency, skillfully navigating a distance of 25 metres

• Showcase impressive breaststroke skills by efficiently swimming a distance of 50 metres

• Execute butterfly strokes with finesse, propelling forward for a controlled 15-metre stretch

• Display mastery in performing a freestyle tumble turn, showcasing agility and technique

• Execute poised standing dives off the wall with confidence and control

ORCA (LEVEL 9) (DEVELOPMENTAL SQUAD)

• Effortlessly cover a distance of 50 metres with efficient freestyle swimming

• Achieve a remarkable time of under 48 seconds for a 50-metre freestyle swim

• Complete a 400-metre freestyle swim in an impressive time of under 7 minutes and 35 seconds

• Showcase efficient backstroke technique while covering a distance of 50 metres

• Achieve a noteworthy time of under 57 seconds for a 50-metre backstroke swim

• Demonstrate proficiency in executing a backstroke start and backstroke turn

• Display efficient breaststroke skills by covering a distance of 50 metres

• Accomplish a commendable time of under 1 minute and 3 seconds for a 50-metre breaststroke swim

• Exhibit efficiency in butterfly strokes, covering a distance of 25 metres

• Achieve an impressive time of under 28 seconds for a 25-metre butterfly swim

• Execute diving off the blocks with precision and control

MANTA RAY (LEVEL 10) (JUNIOR / SENIOR SQUAD)

• Complete a 100-metre freestyle swim, adhering to FINA Rules, under 100 strokes

• Complete a swift 100-metre freestyle swim in under 1 minute and 35 seconds

• Complete a 400-metre freestyle swim in under 7 minutes and 35 seconds

• Complete a 1000-metre freestyle swim in under 17 minutes and 30 seconds

• Complete a 100-metre backstroke swim, adhering to FINA Rules, under 110 strokes

• Attain an impressive time of under 1 minute and 45 seconds for a 100-metre backstroke swim

• Master the 100-metre breaststroke swim, complying with FINA rules, using fewer than 50 strokes

• Accomplish a 100-metre breaststroke swim in under 1 minute and 55 seconds

• Navigate a 50-metre butterfly swim, adhering to FINA Rules, achieving it in under 30 strokes

• Achieve a swift 50-metre butterfly swim in under 46 seconds

• Execute a 200-metre individual medley in accordance with FINA rules

• Complete the 200 IM in under 3 minutes and 41 seconds

  • Parent and child enter and exit safely
  • Assisted monkey hold

Swim Level Progression - Stingray (Level 3)

Stingray
Level 3

  • Perform Basic Digging Arms
  • Swimming without Breathing for 3m
  • Pick up objects underwater at 1m depth
  • Back Float with Noodle for 10s
  • Independent safety falls of the wall
Swim Level Progression - Turtle (Level 4)

Turtle
Level 4

  • Streamline Glide with Correct body position for 3m
  • Back and Front Floats for 10sec
  • Flutter kicks on Front and Back with correct body position with board for 10m
  • Swimming independently with comfortable breaths for 10m
  • Perform independently the safety test

  • Swim Backstroke for 25m

  • Kicking in Streamline for 25m in all 4 strokes
  • Perform Open Turns Confidently
  • Perform Crouching Dives off the Wall
